Tuchena was due her booster vaccinations a couple of weeks ago. In the past when I have had to take the labradors for theirs, it hasn't really required more thought than phoning the vets, making an appointment and turning up with the vaccination record. With Tuchena however, we had to give this some thought. We could probably …
Walking Tall
We had a BBQ on Sunday to celebrate the one sunny day, before more rain! I took this photo of Tuchena trying to get something out of the tree. It shows just how long and slinky she can be!
The last lesson
Thursday was our last sniffer dog class. I am pleased with Tuchena's progress over the last four weeks. She is by no means perfect but has made more progress than I thought possible in such a short space of time. This week she was much more relaxed and managed to not get too reactive during …
Tuchena and Hartley
Tuchena's friend Hartley came to play today. They are a good match and had a great time charging around the garden! You would never be able to tell that they both have a tendency to get easily stressed or reactive, they were just having some good doggy fun in a safe environment.
The Penultimate Lesson
We attended our third sniffer dog lesson last Thursday. I am sad that they are coming to an end as they have really helped Tuchena and I bond. Her trust in me has grown enormously over the past three weeks. This week we could even take part in the lesson in the same way as …

Sharing training tips
Whilst I was catching up on some of the blogs I read this week, I came across this post by 'gowalkeaze' . I love reading about Rosie & Ranger and the progress they are making. Even though they are on the other side of the Atlantic, they experience many similar hurdles that need to be …
Mind Games
As the weather has been so awful this week and I was on annual leave from work, we decided to buy a game that I could play with Tuchena in the house. After a bit of research we chose 'Dog Tornado' by Nina Ottosson. It has three levels that all spin around, with 4 compartments …
First day of school
Tuchena and I attended our very first dog class on Thursday. Taking a wolf dog any where unfamiliar is always a challenge and this was no exception. We arrived early to give me enough time to get her out of the truck and have a good walk and sniff around the car park before the …
